The tasks of the Commercial Vehicle Division include the development of heavy-duty engines for the on- and off-road sector. These include, above all, tests on full-engine test benches and in vehicles.
The tests on the test bench cover the spectrum of:
- Application tasks to optimize engine performance, fuel consumption and emissions data for current and future global emissions legislation
- Diagnostic tasks
- Official homologation of engines using our resources with external inspectors
In addition to the optimization of vehicle dynamics, the main focus of the investigations in the vehicle is on checking the real exhaust emissions in the daily operation of on- and off-road applications. The tests are carried out taking into account the environmental conditions valid for the target market. The goal here is to develop a product that is tailored to the respective target market, which meets the quality requirements of our parent company.
These include exhaust gas legislation, driving dynamics and durability, above all environmental compatibility and fuel consumption.
