In the Engine Workshop we set up engines for the bench testing on pallets and prepare them for different tests. This includes special constructions, e.g. pallets for cold starting. Depending upon requirements holder and add-on parts need to be modified or fabricated. Furthermore we tear down engines for tests, measure components (regarding dimension, hardness, roughness, wear) and - if necessary - reassemble the single parts to an executable engine.

Beyond that, development engines are re-tooled to the latest state of construction. Additionally employees of the Engine Workshop give advisory assistance to the injection pump test bench. Here different injection systems are approved regarding their performance. Rate and course of injection are measured with vehicle-identical construction.
